What is FAMI?
FAMI stands for Fresh Autologous Mesenchymal Integration (stem cell rejuvenation). It
is a minimally invasive procedure that facilitates the correction of facial deficiencies.
The surgeon removes fat tissue from your lower body using local anesthesia with the
tumescent technique and the syringe liposuction technique. Using very high G-forces
(gravity) the stem cells are separated from the fatty tissue and then they are injected
into the facial muscles with specially made instruments rejuvenating your face.
How is the procedure done?
This procedure is developed in two stages. The first stage removes fat from the
LOWER PART of the body. This liposuction is called more precisely Lipo-harvesting.
The second stage during the same operation is an injection of the fatty tissue in the
muscle regions of the face. Every surgical procedure has it risks and possible
complications, ask your physician more about this complications.
What is the Recovery Like?
After your FAMI procedure you might have some bruising around the injection sites.
This can be easily masked with makeup. There will be minimal swelling that may last
a few days. Most patients resume their regular activities within a couple of days. As the
swelling subsides, you and your friends will begin to notice the rejuvenation.
